HAPPYNESS SB'S TRUCK

Alongside news of a European tour with Dandy Warhols, Happyness are back with their first new music since 2014's acclaimed Weird Little Birthday. 'SB's Truck' comes amid work on a follow-up record via Moshi Moshi/PIAS, and continues in the vein that Happyness fans have come to know and love. The lo-fi, garagey production - reminiscent of Alex G's DIY approach - allows the cut to flow effortlessly with noodly guitar, gentle splashing cymbals and typically nonchalant vocal work. The band explain the song "has something to do with [the late, famed, 80s wrestler and actor] André The Giant as a teenager having to be taken to school in Samuel Beckett's truck because he couldn't fit in his dad's car." Nice to see they haven't lost their sense of humour then. It's a welcome return; jump in 'SB's Truck'. -G.O'B
